Document Viewing and Management

A Native Plant Stewardship Application

About

This document management website has been developed by John Neorr (that's me). I have been a native plant steward since 2006 and am a member of the South Sound Chapter of the Washington Native Plant Society (WNPS). I use this site to store, display, and share information related to my activities as a Washington State native plant steward and as a supporter of the Lake Wilderness Arboretum in Maple Valley. Prior to joining WNPS, I was a member of the Lake Wilderness Arboretum Foundation and I remain an active volunteer at the Arboretum.

This site uses MySql as a backend database and PHP for server side scripts that generate web pages from that database. Open source applications used on this site are available from me and include document cataloging and retrieval and plant accession.

Although most of the information on this site relates to plants and in particular Washington native plants, the software can be used for storing, cataloging, and retrieving any kind of document. Typically, the documents stored on this site are small and are captured in Microsoft Office or PDF format.

There are no proprietary documents on this site. Wherever possible, documents are marked using Creative Commons copyright marks. Documents not marked are in the public domain.
